Isolated but Not Alone

It’s been a while. In fact, it’s been a long while, and I’m glad to be back at it. So I think it’s proper to re-introduce the goal of this blog quickly. The goal is to connect sincerely to other believers, to share God’s word in its purest form, to equip you with the tools needed to walk this life of faith and discipleship. And most importantly to be a light to those children yet to find their way home. So this month is about isolation.

The world is under great strain due to the pandemic.. But may I say the world is under great strain, period. Why? The more we shut God out the more we will see a decline in our country. Many believe the up-climb will be due to another Administration. But the change we will see is when we truly repent and turn back to God. However, God gives us free will to choose. And often we choose our way instead of God’s. This level of extended isolation has affected many mentally; which is an extension of our emotions, our physical bodies, and our financial lives. America has never seen life like this… a country in excess of freedom, has never seen life restricted. This is a time many have found out things about themselves and others that they never knew. They’ve discovered uncomfortable things about their lives as a whole. The church (physically) as we know it is challenged. The connection between the disciples of Christ is challenged.

Though our physical connection is challenged, our spiritual connection shouldn’t be… As disciples of Christ, those that lead a daily life of submission and adherence to Christ’s commandments, our present-world’s state shouldn’t determine our state. Why? We aren’t governed (controlled) by the same standards. This doesn’t mean turn a deaf ear or a blind eye. Nor does it mean ignore injustice or stay silent… It means speak up but speak God’s intention and heart as He leads. God’s greatest desire that we see throughout Biblical History is to reconcile Himself to man. He desires to change the heart of man and to give His Spirit as a gift so man has the ability to live righteously in this sinful world. A world where Satan is god: “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not..” 2Corinthians 4:4. This doesn’t mean God isn’t Lord over all; however, Satan was given this power and authority over this world for a season. However, many reject God’s offer to come out of this world’s system—way of living and thinking. And as a result we see a decline in the morality of man. But to those that receive Him also receive the benefit of Christ and His precious promises. Let’s take a moment to look at one of the most substantial promises of Christ; “I will not leave you comfortlesss, I will come to you.” John 14:18.

That scripture speaks volumes … God promises to not leave us comfortless. The word comfortless here means “orphaned” or “friendless” another definition of comfortless in this context is “fatherless”. Ultimately God says; I will not leave you alone. You are never isolated from me; the Life, the Resurrection, shield, Savior, helper, and the list goes on. Though calamity is all around, take hope in Christ. Take this time to be with Him. Receive Him fully so you can experience the peace He promises and the joy from His presence… People may wonder why you aren’t in the same emotional place as them in this world?! But remember, this world isn’t ours, and we have a hope beyond this world. We are just pilgrims passing through awaiting that city of God not made with man’s hands.

“For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God” Hebrews 11:10
